Nexus Radio
I never get tired of telling people that with the right piece of software, the computer is a properly good replacement for a lot of tech they have around the house. This is definitely the case when we talk about boomboxes and radios. With the right piece of software you can play audio tracks on your computer and you can listen to radio stations directly on your computer.
What is the right piece of software that can do what I mentioned above? It’s the Egisca Corp-developed and appropriately named Nexus Radio. This full featured media player can play the audio tracks you have stored on your computer (provides support for AAC, MP4, MP3, MP2, MP1, OGG, WAV & WMA) and it can stream audio from thousands of radio stations.
By getting Nexus Radio you will have access to on-demand music search (search for particular artists and songs), access to more than 15 million songs, access to more than 11,000 radio stations, and last but not least, access to music grouped in 38 different genres.
As mentioned above, you can play audio tracks and you can listen to streaming music. There’s one other thing you can do with Nexus Radio: you can record the streaming music you’re listening to. Nexus Radio comes with a dynamic stream recorder with auto file-naming features and with a straightforward audio editor.
To make listening to music a visual experience as well, Nexus Radio comes with some pretty cool visualizations. If they are not enough, more are available for download online.
Before you go get Nexus Radio and put it to the test, take a look at the technical details presented below:
Download – the download weighs in at 9.7MB. Shouldn’t take long for the download to complete if you’re on a high-speed internet connection.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, Nexus Radio is fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, and 2003.
Limitations – there are none as Nexus Radio is free to use.
A long list of online radio stations, support for various media formats, the option to search for individual songs and artists, stream recording, cool visualizations and a user friendly interface, these are all elements that make Nexus Radio a worthwhile download.

Cons
